If I had the opportunity to stop the child marriages in Afghanistan I will start to join in a group that defends the rights of this girls. Then I will collaborate in some movement for combat this injustice. Also, I will tell to my friends and my family about this issue. I am secure that they will support me, even help me to combat that social problems. If I could form a group too, although to join the existing groups, I would do that, because it comes together to become stronger and be heard.
2. State a social issue that concerns you in your country (Puerto Rico) and explain in what way(s) would you help to make a positive change.
The teenage pregnancy is one of the most issues that worry me, because the girls take bad decisions that can kill them. For example many times they decided to abort the baby, and this in Puerto Rico is not legal. Then, the illegal clinics many times are unsanitary and this cause infections and in the worse cases the dead of the patient. To combat this problem, I would encourage these girls to go to meetings about abortion or motherhood. Maybe some girl that was passed this situation can convince them to take the best decision, that could be to give the baby up for adoption.
I agree! The perfect way to stop child marriages is to teach society how wrong that is. I also agree with your opinion of abortion in Puerto Rico. Girls should know that it is dangerous and that the best solution is to give the baby for adoption. Of course, every situation is different and each case should be revised individually. We can not force girls to have a baby they do not want, because that could lead to more tragedy.
